"You Are Getting Sleepy..." Contest Results

Here are the results of our second writing contest.  Congratulations to these three writers, and thanks to all who entered!  I get inspired when I see how diverse and creative you are.

This was the prompt.

"If you could hypnotize anyone with just a few words and a wave of your hand (which you couldn't do, but it's still fun to think about), who would you hypnotize and to what effect?"

These are the winning entries, in no particular order.  I know, I know.  Rob and I said first, second and third places, but truthfully, we couldn't decide three places.  We had a hard enough time narrowing it down to three!  So, we've decided to say...

Three First Place Entries

LaNell Koenig (Lefty) won for the funniest entry.

She threaded string around a large dog biscuit. Max and Hershey looked on in eager anticipation, eyes fixed upon the gently swaying biscuit, unmoving, drool forming on their lips.

Their mistress looked deeply into their eyes, chanting, "I will stay in the yard, I will NOT dig under the gate..."

Erin Tarica won for this warm, beautifully written piece.

Sleep my darling baby. Let it cover you with blankets of snow and warm flashes of fires. Let the tingly sensation flow through your body. Let the swirls embrace your breath and exhales. May you be encircled by the deepest blues and find wholeness among the sweet energy of life.

Louise Kovacs' entry had a ghostly feel to it.

I never knew my father's family: they died when their house was bombed during World War II. I would hypnotize my father so that he could remember his family without pain, so that he could pass on some of his memories to my brother and I, to share his family.

Please visit Rob at Let Us Ponder.  And hypnotize your friends so they buy you a Guided Meditation CD!
